Abilify has been approved for the treatment of schizophrenia. The new antipsychotic, which is said to offer a combination of proven efficacy and a favorable side-effect profile, is being marketed in a joint arrangement involving Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. Schizophrenia affects more than 2 million Americans.
